Madison Cornbread Said Something to the Effect of a False Statement
Below, Megyn Kelly points out Madison Cornbread's constant reflexive caveating of her claims of what other people said, always prefacing their words with "something to the effect of."
In one case, she says that "very clearly, he said something to the effect of," making one wonder, as a legal matter, which should be considered the operative language: the "very clearly," indicating certitude about the wording, or the "something to the effect of," indicating shakiness of memory and a vague reconstruction?
In many of these cases, it's the precise wording that's being pushed as a reason to claim Trump is guilty of this or that.
"Something to the effect of" won't do, Madison Cornbread.

I don't think Trump supporters will find the rest of her analysis very satisfying -- she discounts most of Madison Cornbread's testimony by saying, basically, "We already knew that Trump was a monster and potential tyrant; how does Madison's shaky testimony advance that story?"
